My name is Eli Andrea Foss Baldersheim, and I have always had a deep interest in dogs. I was never happier as a child than when I got to spend time with my aunt and uncle's German Shepherds, and the first dog, a 4-5 year old male Dachshund, entered the family when I was 9 years old. He may not have been the easiest dog to live with, but I learnt a great deal from him. When I was 12 I got my first Groenendael, a female named Black Hawkwind's Dibah - and with that there was no going back; my fascination with the Belgian Shepherd had begun.
In 2007 we lost Dibah at age 14, and the gap she left was enormous. It didn't take long for me to realize that life without a Belgian simply wasn't the same, and so Luno des Champs du Trêfle entered our lives in February 2008. A wonderful dog who is my "lucky troll" and hobbydog. We train a little agility in addition to some tracking just for fun. All his qualities aside, Luno is not a showdog and as my interest in exhibitions was gradually increasing I wasn't hard to ask when my mother offered me co-ownership in our Tervueren female born December 2009, NORDJW-10 Nemi des Champs du Trêfle. A lovely young lady with a big personality and a lot of will, whom we are very pleased with.
My interest in breeding was something that kept growing, and by the end of 2010 I had sent an application for a kennelname. I had decided that Luno would not be used for breeding, but as he is so important to me I wanted him to be a part of this in another way. The name I decided on was therefore 'Cor Lunare', which means 'heart of the moon' (or 'heart of Luno' in this case) in Latin. As he has one of the biggest hearts I know, perhaps this will be a good omen. The final approval of the name arrived from the Norwegian Kennel Club on April 28th 2011.
In August 2011 another young female joined us, Nizhoni's Timeless Design 'Jolie', co-owned with her breeder, Iselin Wang at Nizhoni. While she is still a baby she seems very promising in both looks and character, and I am very much looking forward to seeing what the future holds for her.
Our first litter won't be due for a couple of years yet, and I will use this time to continue to learn as much as possible. My goal will be to produce well-constructed Belgians of good type that can be used as showdogs, training-companions, as well as being wonderful family members. We will see what the future brings =)
